A look back at the first France Valley Conference

On Thursday June 5, the first France Valley Annual Conference was held at Musée de la Chasse et de la Nature, in the presence of our institutional partners, private banks and wealth management advisors.

For this first edition of our annual conference, our experts and guests focused on the relevance and robustness of the forestry asset class within a diversified allocation, with :

• On the one hand, our experts presented an overview of the French and European forestry sector, with its strengths and challenges.
• Secondly, we were fortunate to welcome Pierre Schoeffler, economist, asset allocation specialist and creator of the IEIF - ASSFOR index, who gave us a behind-the-scenes look at the creation of such an index, the associated results and the positive consequences of standardizing forestry on the scale of other market vehicles.

All these themes were approached through the prism of sustainable forest management, in a context where the preservation of biodiversity and the ecological transition are more than ever central concerns.

One of the highlights of the conference was the inspiring presence of skipper and yachtsman Marc Thiercelin, who shared his ambitious goal of taking part in the Vendée Globe 2028 with the first IMOCA boat built from wood and natural fibers. His speech, an invitation to innovation and daring, demonstrated that forests and wood can also be a formidable testing ground for visionary projects, combining sporting performance and sustainability without compromising respect for the environment.

The Musée de la Chasse et de la Nature, a prestigious setting intrinsically linked to the theme of forestry, is the setting for this first event. The setting, in the heart of the 3rd arrondissement of Paris, was ideal for exchanges between our experts and partners.
